Many traditional and rare varieties are cultivated only in limited quantities by responsible farmers. Their availability depends on seasonal harvests, annual production volumes, and processing feasibility. For certain rare rice varieties, a minimum collective demand (for example, 50 kg or more) may be required before processing can be undertaken. This helps ensure fair returns for farmers while making these unique varieties available.
